Los Tarascos Mexican Restaurant is Tuscaloosa's premier family-run Mexican restaurant. Established in 1999 by a family with roots in the Mexican state of Michoacan, Los Tarascos brings authentic regional flavors and hospitality to its two locations in Tuscaloosa and Northport. The restaurant is named after the Purepecha people who originally inhabited Michoacan. The family behind Los Tarascos is proud of their heritage and aims to share the distinctive flavors of Michoacan with customers. With decades of combined experience working in various restaurants, the family set out to open an authentic Mexican restaurant that would offer dishes and an atmosphere unmatched in the area.
